Purpose
The San Joaquin County Resource Conservation District, SJCRCD, seeks qualified subcontractor(s) to provide land stewardship, habitat restoration, and deferred maintenance services in support of its partnership with the California Department of Water Resources (DWR). Work will be conducted at Terminous Tract, in northern San Joaquin County, Pace Preserve in Stockton and Medford Island in the Delta.
Scope of Work
Activities will include non-native vegetation control, native revegetation, and infrastructure maintenance to support healthy native riparian plant communities. Activities include:
Activity 1 – Site Assessment & Monitoring
Seasonal site assessments and invasive weed planning.
Pre- and post-activity monitoring for adaptive management.
Activity 2 – Vegetation Management
Seasonal control of invasive plants, as conditions allow.
Use of integrated pest management (chemical, mechanical, and/or cultural methods) consistent with all regulations.
Activity 3 – Revegetation
Acquisition of CDFW- and DWR-approved plant/seed material.
Planting/seeding in fall–late winter.
Maintenance of new plantings (weed control, protection, mulching, irrigation).
Activity 4 – Infrastructure & Stressors
Manage water levels, siphons, and pumps.
Operate/maintain and later remove irrigation systems.
Install habitat boundary/no-trespassing signs.
Install wildlife damage deterrents (e.g., beaver baffles).
Maintain site access as needed.
Requirements
Experience with habitat restoration/riparian systems in the Delta or similar environments.
Demonstrated expertise in invasive species management and revegetation.
Experience working with public agencies.
